Erie, PA (July 26, 2013) J.H. Bennett Moving and Storage, a 99 year old household goods mover located in Erie, PA, celebrates their commitment to United Van Lines by honoring their 50th year anniversary mark as an agent.

In 1963, second generation owner, James Gordon Bennett immediately saw the benefit of representing a much larger van line. The company now had an active progressive van lines to support it’s local Erie mover reputation. The United Van Lines model, agent owned and directed, put the fate of the company in the owner’s hands while being aided by Board decisions that strengthened agencies first.

This union has been mutually successful through the years. In November 2012, J.H. Bennett Moving & Storage was awarded the 2012 Customer Choice in their division and 2012 President’s Choice Award, above all United Agents across the country. Unigroup President, and United Van Lines CEO Rich McClure came to Erie, PA to personally award these achievements to the J.H. Bennett staff, former President, J. Gordon Naughton and long time General Manager and new owner, Kent Mitchell. “J.H. Bennett not only has incredible quality scores, but the company puts an emphasis on safety as well, as demonstrated by its strong safety performance ratings in 2012,” McClure said in announcing the award.

“We are proud to be part of the Erie community. Our drivers, crews and office staff work hard every day putting our customers’ needs first,” says Mitchell. “These are the reasons we have been in business for 99 years and will continue to grow.”
